Valentine’s Day Ideas for the Primary Classroom

This endearing story is about a “funny looking” monster who lives in Cutesville. Although his search for love comes up short, when he least expects it, love finds him. If you’re planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day in your classroom this year, I propose a day of MONSTROUS Fun! Love Monster Literacy Set & Craftivity

DIY Love Monster Kit
Let your students have some fun building their OWN Love Monsters with playdoh! These playdoh kits are a great alternative to candy! Each student can build their own LOVE monster, create a Monster ID card, write about their LOVE MONSTER, and brainstorm MONSTROUS ways to show LOVE all year long on a graphic organizer. Monster Mash CVC Scoot Game

Monster Apple Snacks
These adorable snacks from ParentingChaos could easily be made with RED apples to look like Love Monsters! I love these because they are healthy and FUN! Make them in advance or better yet, elect a room parent to help! Another option, if you are short on time, make them together as a class! You can even incorporate a How-To Writing from it!
